As we enter Holy Week, my heart is just so tender and full of hope at the work of Christ in the lives of our students. All year, through the Jesus Storybook Bible (JSB), in which "every story whispers His name," we have seen shadows and types of our Rescuer. This week, we will see Him victorious. Yay!
JSB author, Sally Lloyd Jones said, “When you read a story to a child, the way I look at it is you’re the one planting a seed and the whole thing about a seed is you can’t see it. It’s hidden. Nothing may happen for a very long time, and it’s almost none of your business what’s happening with a seed. Your job is to plant it.”
It is a privilege to be able to plant the seed of the greatest Story in the hearts and minds of our students. From the wonder we see in their eyes as they contemplate the truth of His Word, to the conviction and application of His truth we see in their lives, to the boy who boldly shared last week during circle that he had asked Jesus to save him or the girl who will be baptized on Easter Sunday, God is at work.
We rejoice at the harvest we see and anticipate the harvest yet to come as the Lord faithfully accomplishes His purposes in the lives of our students. Praise be to God!
